We’re giving you an insight into what goes on between the ears of our Commercial Manager, Ricky Amalsadia.
How long have you been a part of the team at Jupiter IT?
Just over 5 months, but it feels a lot longer than that, in a good way of course – the team here get you settled in very quickly.
What do you like most about working at Jupiter IT?
Everyone’s passion for what they do. It’s quite infectious when you come in to work each day and you know everyone is on the same page, striving to maintain our vision of being the best at what we do, knowing that it makes a difference to our valued clients. Before I joined, I was told, our service speaks for itself.
From my first day, it was evident why – the attention to detail and focus on doing the right thing was there in plain sight.
No two days are the same but we are all trusted and have the autonomy to get on with our jobs and learn through real experience so we can continually improve. I’ve experienced businesses that worry too much about getting something wrong, rather than making progress. Anyone that says they haven’t made a mistake is lying or isn’t adding any value to what they do or learning.
Each of the team are valued for the experience and knowledge they bring to the team and it’s refreshing to see a business that trusts their staff – I believe this is one of a few things that really helps us become the best at what we do.
What gets you out of bed each morning?
My body clock! My brain seems to kickstart itself around 530am each day! On the odd occasion it doesn’t, my 4-year-old kick starts it for me.
I think your purpose in life changes – since getting married and having kids – doing the best for them and making them proud has become my purpose.
I want them to have the opportunities to grow and develop like I have been fortunate to have.
That is why working at Jupiter has become a way of life and a natural fit. Our values align very well in that as a business, we hope to do the best for our clients and make them proud of the service we offer, providing them too with opportunities for their business to develop.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
With two young boys, they’re always keeping me busy. I like to spend as much time with my wife and kids as I can and making memories.
I enjoy football – if it isn’t taking my eldest son training, for my sins I support Birmingham City and enjoy the joys and sorrows (more sorrows than joys) of following them.
I get stuck in with DIY around the house and quite enjoy it – you can learn a lot from it and you get a sense of pride when you get something finished (even if it does take some time – I just like doing things properly).
Why do you think clients should work with Jupiter IT?
It’s easy to say we are the best at what we do – we think we show we are. Everyone that works here has a passion for doing the right thing and delivering a great service.
Short-term, that isn’t always the most commercial but we see the mutual benefit of it in the long term – it is why we have retained clients for many years and also the growth of our business over the last few years.
We’ve attained ISO 9001:2015 recently – this is our commitment to continually improve and deliver the best service possible to our clients. We have to pass an audit every single year to demonstrate we are continually improving processes and the service we deliver.
Cyber Security is something we take seriously – that is why we’ve also achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification. We don’t just settle for bog standard – this certification ensures we live the way we tell our clients to. It means when we deal with our client’s businesses, we are able to make their businesses more resilient because we have the experience of having to do it ourselves.
Tell us something not many people know about you?
I had a short lived modelling career – just the one shoot but it was for Mercedes as a Parts Manager.
What is your favourite film soundtrack?
I haven’t really watched most the films “you should have” – however Bad Boys with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is one of my favourites – that I will admit to anyway – ha ha!
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Spreadsheets! I like organising and arranging things neatly in spreadsheets.
