There are several welcomed business support packages temporarily available with targeted measures to support businesses through this tough period caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. After a busy week setting up VPNs and working to source laptops for our clients, we thought this one would be of particular interest to many of you.
Amongst many business support interventions available currently, there is a local Humber business support initiative called the ICT for Growth Grant – sounds interesting right? It is and here’s what you need to know about it:

What is the ICT for Growth Grant?
This grant has been established to help support businesses in the Humber region with the cost implications of setting up remote working arrangements for their staff.
We have worked tirelessly over the last week to move our clients to remote working environments and have committed ourselves to the promise of working as flexibly as possible to support their business and the local economy. But ultimately, large workforce shift projects like this incur cost.
Who’s running the funding initiative?
In the case of the ICT for Growth Grant, the initiative is being run by the Humber Business Growth Hub and backed by the government.
What does the grant cover?
The grant entitles local businesses to up to 40% of the cost of software and hardware purchased to make home-working possible for their employees. This covers laptops, PCs and tablets, but also any costs incurred by moving over to cloud services and any telecom software to support business communications.
You could be entitled to 40% of costs totalling between £2,500 and £25,000 which is music to the ears of many!
How do I apply?
Thankfully, the process is fairly quick: contact the Humber Business Growth Hub (business.investment@hullcc.gov.uk) for an application form and, providing you are eligible, you will receive funding within 3 working days of returning the form.
To accompany the form, you’ll need to send your last set of company accounts, a bank statement and quotes or receipts for the ICT costs incurred to your business.
